After the Black Summer fires the wombats were just getting back on their paws and then came the floods. And now with the last lot of rain that arrived in bucket loads in the Southern Highlands over the weekend of the 10th August, it can flood the wombat’s burrows. This can mean they sadly drown or if they do get a chance to leave the burrow in time, they find they have no shelter from the elements.
If you see a wombat or two, or three or more, running around looking for shelter, contact John with the address and he will bring out a temporary home for them. We need to protect these amazing creatures as they have been through so much this year.
